1.Enjoy at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is one of the most iconic tourist attractions known for its magnificent garden artistry spread over a whopping 250 acres area. You cannot miss the gigantic Supertrees that are 50 metres tall tree shaped gardens that come alive with spectacular lights and sound every evening.

You can actually walk in the sky on the OCBC Skyway that connects two Supertrees in the Grove. Cloud Forest is a beautiful misty conservatory containing over 60,000 plants from around the world, the world’s largest waterfall, and 7 discovery zones.

Flower Domes, awarded as the world’s largest glass greenhouses, house exotic plants from Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and America.

2.Ride in Singapore Flyer

Standing at around 165 metres tall, Singapore Flyer is a gigantic observation wheel that provides awe-inspiring birds-eye views of not only the whole of Singapore but also of nearby Indonesia and Malaysia.

This 30-minute flight includes immersive & interactive content on the culture and history of Singapore while indulging in champagne, fine dining, and the mesmerising views. There are a number of food outlets at the foot of the flyer for you to sample traditional snacks like satay, fried carrot cake, oyster omelettes, etc.

3.Visit ArtScience Museum

Expect Singapore to always surprise with its inspiring and magnificent architecture coupled with technology. The ArtScience Museum is one such example. The exterior of the building that looks like a welcoming hand is extremely striking. It houses around 21 galleries where exhibitions delving on futuristic technology and innovation are held on a regular basis.

You should not miss Future World: Where Art meets Science to see interactive art installations around themes of Science and Nature. Other exhibitions include multimedia art pieces by Eric Valli, animated tours by DreamWorks, which are must-see Marina Bay activities.

4.Take a Selfie with the Merlion

Standing at 8.6 metres high and weighing 70 tonnes, the Merlion statue has a lion’s head and a fish’s body, and is housed here in this 2,500 square metre park.

A nearby viewing platform extends into the bay as a popular photo spot. Many tourists like to pose with gaping mouths so it looks like they’re catching the water sprayed from the Merlion. I didn’t try that but I did have to get a happy snap next to the statue of course.

The Merlion is surrounded by small landscaped gardens, benches, paved areas, steps, and a few cafes and food vendors. Despite the crowds of tourists, it’s a beautiful place to sit by the water with a cold drink and enjoy a little people watching

Address: Merlion Park, Singapore

Operating hours: Daily 24 hours

5.Stroll Through Helix Bridge

A visit to the Helix Bridge must be included into your Singapore itinerary of Marina Bay activities. This is one of the most unique architectural landmarks that are visited by tourists from all over the world.

280 metres in length, the bridge offers breathtaking views of the city’s architecture, waterways, and skyline. In the night, the bridge comes alive with resplendent millions of gleaming LED lights. There are even special spaces with the best views for people to take pictures.

6.Sands Skypark Observation Deck

Located on the roof of Marina Bay Sands, the Sands SkyPark Observation Deck boasts scenic views of the panoramic vistas of Marina Bay and Singapore’s world-class cityscape.

The boat-shaped rooftop area is primarily reserved for the world’s largest rooftop infinity pool and rooftop restaurant, but a section has been set aside as an observation deck. Queues for SkyPark were surprisingly short on the day of my visit so I rode the elevator straight to the 57th floor and was met with some of the best views of Singapore’s city skyline.

Operating hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30am to 10pm | Friday to Sunday 9:30am to 11pm

Singapore is known around the world for its eclectic arts scene that is freely available for all to savour. Most of the art festivals, performances, and exhibitions are held at Esplanade- Theatres on the Bay also called ‘The Durian’ due to its fruit-like shape, which is an architectural marvel in itself.

A visit to this huge amphitheatre to see international orchestras, theatre, and music groups perform is counted amongst the best things to do in Marina Bay.

Location: 1 Esplanade Dr., Singapore 038981

Timings: Every day 6:00 am- 3:00 am

8.Enjoy the Spectra Light Show at Marina Bay Sands

This visually stunning show of laser projections, mist effects, dancing fountains is beyond anyone's imagination. Seeing this amazing symphony of lights, music, and the energy of people around you is one of the best things to do in Marina Bay.

You can choose to attend any of the 4 fifteen minute shows, each enthralling in its own way. The Story reflects the journey of Singapore from a sleepy island nation to the international hotspot that it is today. A 12-metre high glass prism comes alive in Act 1, Prism of Diversity is Act 2, while Act 3 is Kaleidoscope- A fusion of culture, passion, and technology.

9. Shop ‘Til You Drop at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

Singapore is a favourite vacation destination of serious shopaholics and it’s easy to see why. The city’s countless shopping malls are filled with prestigious designer fashion brands and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands is no exception. It’s so fancy, it’s even got a superfluous “p” and silent “e”.

A short walk westward from the MBS main lobby, down an escalator, is what appears to be an underground shopping strip, but don’t be deceived. Continue along the walkway and the ceiling opens up into a vast, multi-story waterfront shopping mall with endless designer brand storefronts to the left and right.

10. Walk Down on Marina Barrage

It is difficult to believe that this modernised and lush open space was once a reservoir! Built on the Marina Channel, the place has been transformed into a haven for the lovers of the outdoors.

There are plenty of exciting things to do at Marina Barrage with your friends and family like kayaking, seeing a dragon boat race, flying kites, or simply enjoying a picnic basket.
