Southeast Asia's first Hollywood movie theme park, Universal Studios Singapore, features an enticing selection of attractions, rides and entertainment for families and thrill seekers. 

 

Indeed, 18 out of the 24 movie-themed rides were designed just for the Singapore park. There are seven uniquely-designed zones, each themed after icons of the movie world. You will find the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame at the Hollywood zone. As you venture into New York, the landscape evolves into impressive city skylines, including a mock-up of a subway entrance. Here, you can step onto a movie set and experience the destructive force of a hurricane, with special effects produced by Steven Spielberg.


The Universal studios Singapore is a uniquely designed studio thematically planned based on the popular Hollywood movies produced by the studio. Established in the year 2010 with 7 themed sections featuring innumerable rides and shows, this destination is the ultimate zone for great rides and shows.


The theme park is a property of the Resorts World Sentosa development and is among fun places to visit in Singapore. The park is based in a sprawling 18 acre property which has 18 original attractions inside it.


The Hollywood Boulevard will take you to Hollywood when you revisit the famous Hollywood titles on display here. Here you can click photos with your favorite stars and show it off to your friends.


For lovers of science fantasy the sci-fi features some great rides including the interlocking roller coaster ride. Madagascar is the most popular zone suitable for all ages. It features some great rides and shows with wonderful sound and video effects.

Sci-Fi City features the famous TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle ride where you fight evil forces in heart-pounding 3D combat. Move on to Ancient Egypt and face mummies and scarab beetles on an indoor roller coaster in total darkness—all the better to ignite your fears. In Madagascar, prepare to be drenched in a river boat ride.

1. New York: 

This zone is themed after post-modern New York City, with sidewalks and historic sites that reflect the city's architecture. Neon lights and street facades accentuate the location, which sets the setting for large city entertainment as well as real-time movie production for most Hollywood blockbusters.


Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, Lights! Camera! Action!, and Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase are some of the most popular rides here.


2. Sci-Fi City: 

Sci-Fi City is based on how cities and metropolises would appear in the future, complete with space-age technology and all of the present amenities. Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN, Battlestar Galactica: CYLON, Transformers: The Ride, and Accelerator are among the most popular rides.


3. Ancient Egypt: 

The Ancient Egypt zone, based on the Mummy film franchise, is designed after the beautiful Egyptian architecture and antiquities discovered during the Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration in the 1930s. Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride and Treasure Hunters are two of the most popular rides.


4. Jurassic Park: 

The Lost World: The Lost World themed zone will transport you to the world of the cult blockbuster Jurassic Park movies. Jurassic Park and Waterworld are two themed locations in the Lost World zone.


Canopy Flyer, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular, Amber Rock Climb, and Dino-Soarin' are some of the most popular rides.


5. Far Far Away: 

Far Far Away is based on the Realm of Far Far Away from Disney Animation's Shrek, and includes all of your favourite characters and locations. Shrek 4-D Adventure, Enchanted Airways, Puss In Boots‘ Giant Journey, and Magic Potion Spin are the most popular rides in this section.


6. Madagascar: 

The Madagascar: A Crate Adventure ride is housed aboard a misplaced cargo ship in the Madagascar zone. It also includes all of the Madagascar characters from DreamWorks Animation. Madagascar is one of the most popular rides. King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round is a crate adventure.


Zone 1 - Hollywood 

Hollywood zone will acquaint you with the glamorous world of Hollywood where you will come across gorgeous art nouveau buildings of the 1940s.

The streets are lined up with a plethora of unique shops and restaurants.

Lake Hollywood Spectacular: Spectacular fireworks glaze the sky with bright lights. Good and uplifting music score is played throughout the firework show. Definitely not to miss out on.

 

Hollywood Walk of Fame: From the glamorous Marilyn Monroe to Audrey Hepburn, a meet and greet session with the most famous superstars along the Hollywood boulevard will leave you star struck. Click a few pictures with Sesame, Minions and many more Universal movie stars.

Minion Mart: Buy minion toys, posters, merchandise and a lot more. The store is inspired by the famous Minion movie franchise produced by Universal Studios.

Zone 2 – New York

Battlestar Galactica - Human or Cyclone: This is the tallest dueling roller coaster in the world at 42.5 m height. It is designed for optimum adrenaline rush with its diversions and loops. This is the biggest challenge of all the 24 attractions and certainly not for the faint-hearted.

 

Transformers - The Ride:  A 4-D ride that takes you through all the dark, spooky loops and whirls. Apart from the 4-D effects, several other special effects like fog, water, warm air and many more are used to give a full-fledged end to the fun ride.

Starbot Cafe:  Starbot cafe is a cafe that serves great soulful food. Hog on junk food and the best soft-serve ice creams.

Zone – 4 – Ancient Egypt

After spinning on the exhilarating rides of the Sci-fi world, step into the world of ancient Egypt. It’s a haven for archaeology lovers and Egyptologists. Explore the buried treasures of The Mummy and hog on the spicy Mediterranean and Malay cuisine at Oasis Spice Café.

Revenge of the Mummy Roller Coaster Ride:  Inspired by The Mummy movie franchise, this ride includes all the elements of the movie. From dim lighting effects to variations in track, it is a complete adventure ride.

Treasure Hunters: Discover treasures and mysterious artefacts of Ancient Egypt with Treasure hunt. Hop on the ride and explore Egyptian replicas and vintage car models.

 

Zone – 5 – Jurassic Park Singapore - The Lost World

Now step into The Lost World to go further back in time for prehistoric adventures.  The rides and activities are majorly based on the two most popular movies ever – Jurassic Park and Waterworld. It features a lot of dining and shopping options too.

 

The star attraction of The Lost World

The Jurassic Park River Rapids: The ride is based on the concept of the Jurassic Park and will drift, rush, and plummet you through the river rapids. Riders start at a structure similar to the one seen in the Jurassic Park River Adventure. The ride starts swiftly and then suddenly flash floods hits and that’s when things go terribly thrilling. The rides pass through various jungles and terrains surpassing different dinosaurs along the way. This water-based Jurassic Park ride is full of entertainment packed with plenty of tension and scares. 

 

Other attractions

Amber Rock Climb – a vertical wall studded with Dinosaurs skeletons, suitable for novice and expert climbers. There is a pint-sized wall for kids too.

 

Dino-soaring and Canopy flyer

While Dino-soaring will let you ride your own dinosaur and control its vertical movement, the flying Canopy will let you fly high and offer a bird’s eye view of “The Lost World”.

 

Water World

King Julien’s Beach party-go-round: This is a very simple merry go round ride that involves all the Madagascar characters.

1. Lake Hollywood Spectacular: 

As an empty staging transforms into the location for a hurricane, ready to impact New York City, be blown away by stunning special effects. Watch as a peaceful day turns stormy as you stand in a boathouse near the harbour.


As hurricane-force gusts rush in from the sea, a cargo ship and debris will be blown towards the cabin you're in. With the help of movie magic, the calm returns and the ruined boathouse is restored. So, feel the exhilarating rush and make an unforgettable experience!


2. Elmo’s TV Time: 

Observe the cute red monster as he runs his own television station! As Elmo develops comedy programmes, action smashes, and a reality talent competition, join Jim Magination and the Sesame Street gang. Don't miss the grand finale, which features himself!


3. WaterWorld: 

Witness a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, as well as thrills and spills from actual fire and water explosions, at this fantastic live water show based on the hit film "Waterworld."


4. Shrek 4-D Adventure: 

Join Princess Fiona, Shrek, and Donkey on an original 3-D film that picks up where Oscar-winning film "Shrek" left off, complete with leaps, wobbles, drifts, air blasts, and water spray that bring the action with life in each guest- with an extra dimension of special effects thanks to the miraculous of OgreVision glasses and FEEL the action from your seat!


5. Donkey Live: 

Sing along with Donkey, Shrek's sidekick, as he hosts this 'live' event. DONKEY In this one-of-a-kind participatory theatre presentation where Shrek's Fairytale sidekick Donkey takes the audience to their feet.


In an intimate theatre atmosphere, guests sing along and even chat to Donkey. This show is hosted by a lively voice artist who perfectly imitates Donkey's renowned voice with charm, humour, and amazing comic timing.


6. Hollywood Dreams Parade: 

On selected evenings, see your favourite movies come alive as the Hollywood Dreams Parade transforms into the Hollywood Dreams Light-Up Parade. Neon colours and LED wizardry are used to illuminate floats and dancers.

Join Hollywood's most famous drive-in restaurant's singing and dancing waitresses. Mel's Dinettes ‘Shake, Rattle, and Roll' to the high-energy hits of the 1950s and 1960s on a daily basis.


The Mel's Dinettes are stunning and entertaining female dancers that perform in an outdoor show and have exceptional singing and dancing abilities. So, get ready to see Mel's Dinettes and have a good time!


8. The Cruisers: 

The Cruisers are a 50s pop singing group composed entirely of men that enchant their audience by performing some of the biggest classics of all time. The Cruisers are known as the "coolest of the cool," with a 50s/60s pop sound, the ability to harmonise, strong movement abilities, engaging personalities, and excellent engagement with park guests in close proximity.


9. The Rockafellas: 

The Streetboys (a popular dancing group in the Philippines) are known as Rockafellas because of their fantastic routines and grooves, as well as their famed tumblings and acrobatics.

10. Sesame Street Shows:

1. Battlestar Galactica Ride: 

At Universal Studios Singapore, you may ride the world's highest duelling roller coaster. The Cylons are represented with a blue inverted coaster, whereas the Humans are represented by a seated red coaster. Stick with Humans if you don't enjoy going upside down.

2. TRANSFORMERS The Ride:

7. Sesame Street Spaghetti Chase: 

Assist Elmo and Super Grover 2.0, two of your favorite Sesame Street characters, on their shuttle flight! The goal is to prevent Macaroni the Merciless from stealing all of our planet's spaghetti.

Lights, Camera, Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg 

Step behind the scenes and watch movie magic unfold as an empty stage transforms into a boathouse in New York ravaged by a Category 5 hurricane.
